ruralDimensions has been delivering high quality projects across Scotland since 2009.
ruralDimensions' portfolio has a strong focus on projects which enable businesses and communities to work togetheR,
with a particular focus on tourism, a sector which invariably touches on all others.
ruralDimensions works with a broad range of clients in the private, public and third sector and is regularly asked to do further work based on high quality outputs and a strong reputation for making a real difference.
ruralDimensions is a freelance rural development consultancy based in Callander which was set up in 2009 by Carron Tobin, a former executive director at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
Carron began her career practicing as a professional landscape architect and planner in the public and private sectors before devoting 15 years of her career to supporting the establishment and early development of Scotland’s first National Park. Protected area management in Scotland’s National Parks has a unique dimension in that the socio-economic well being of the Park’s communities is an equal aim to conservation of the natural and cultural heritage, responsible enjoyment and sustainable use of resources.
Carron championed the socio-economic agenda for the Park until 2009, packaging and delivering an exciting range of innovative projects and initiatives and, in so doing developing an outstanding track record in securing partnership funding, working closely with stakeholders and making a real difference on the ground.
In August 2009 Carron established ruralDimensions, fulfilling a long held dream to run her own business. In 2010 ruralDimensions became a limited company.
Our focus is sustainable and responsible tourism, destination development and marketing, stakeholder engagement, product development and collaboration.
Over the years ruralDimensions has developed an extensive portfolio of projects working with clients from the public, private and third sectors and has operated in most areas of Scotland with a primary focus on the west coast and Scotland's Islands, the South, Cairngorms and more recently South Lanarkshire, Aberdeenshire and Orkney.
